If only I could leap sideways,
just once, straight to what’s ahead —
how nice that would be, I thought,
watching a lemur from Madagascar on a TV special.
Someone might call this lazy thinking,
but it’s not really about taking it easy.
It’s impatience.
I want to see what’s ahead.
I want to know what’s ahead.
I don’t want to sit here, fidgeting —
I just want to know, right now.
But if I knew,
I’d probably get bored,
and leap my way back here again.
