field notes

My path through life has been colorful — full of hills and valleys, one after another. And yet, after all these years, I find those moments strangely precious. Simply looking back with nostalgia, though, is not enough to make me happy.

I always wanted a dramatic life. In reality, it was ordinary in its struggles and ordinary in its joys. I am not a special person. But with time, even the hardest things become stories, become laughter — and I’ve come to believe that everything, without exception, was necessary.

I spin off fragments of these memories as essay comics on note. Here in field notes, I write freely about the stories behind them — memories from my years as a fashion model, and the life I’m living now.

I still can’t quite love myself fully.
But coming to understand that, through these field notes,
may be one of the bigger things I’ve grown into.
